For the past 5 years we have been developing, testing and validating an alternative model for the fabrication of concrete components using material characterisation, parametric modelling and digital fabrication. This has resulted in a range of precast and 3D printed concrete landscaping components made with aluminosilicate rich by-product and waste, an abundant mineral which makes up 75% of our earth’s crust that is readily available in the form of slag, mine tailings, construction demolition waste, agricultural waste and incinerator ash.
